Candace “Candy” Price, 65, went to be with the Lord on September 25, 2016.
Candy was born February 7, 1951 in Pratt, Kansas. She graduated from Trinity Catholic High School in Hutchinson, Kansas in 1969. After high school, Candy began her career with Southwestern Bell/AT&T. Her career relocated her and her two sons, Chris and Kevin to Texas in 1983. She worked for AT&T for 30 years before retiring. After retiring, Candy returned to work at Medical Clinic of North Texas at USMD in Arlington, Texas.
Candy loved to work in the garden with her dachshunds and antique shopping, but loved spending time with her grandchildren even more. Candy loved to make her grandkids happy and often went out of her way to do just that.
Candy also had a great love of the Lord. She was an active member of The Church on Rush Creek, Mansfield West. Candy was a faithful part of the children’s team where she worked with fifth and sixth graders.
Candy was preceded in death by her parents, Chuck and Shirley; brother, Mike; nephew, Taylor; and her beloved dachshunds Mikie and Buddy.
Candy is survived by her son Chris Wittry and wife Andrea of Mansfield; son Kevin Smith and wife Tonia of Burleson; grandchildren, Drew Wittry, Austin Wittry, Trinity Smith, Christopher Wittry and Chayton Smith; brothers Danny, Paul and Bert Summers; sisters Betty Thompson, Lori Strawn and Barbie Allen and numerous nieces and nephews as well as her dachshund, Nikie.
At the request of Candy’s family, in lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Church on Rush Creek, Mansfield West Campus.
