BURLESON -- Calvin Lee Phillips, 83, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer surrounded by his loving family Sunday, March 30, 2014.
Celebration of life: 2 p.m. Thursday at Blessing Funeral Home, Mansfield. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Calvin was born in Britton on Nov. 4, 1930, to O.D. and Loma Phillips. He graduated from Midlothian High School in 1947 and attended weekly luncheons with his classmates for many years. Calvin attended the University of North Texas before serving in the United States Air Force. He retired from Ford Motor Co. after 34 years of service at its Dallas assembly plant and Ford world headquarters in Dearborn, Mich. Calvin and his wife, Ella, traveled to over 40 countries by plane, train, ship and automobile during their retirement years.
The family deeply appreciates the care and compassion provided by Edie Timmons, R.N., of Klarus Home Health and Henry Xiong, M.D., of the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, during the last six years.
Calvin was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Wammack, and daughter, Laura Phillips Pulido.
Survivors: Cherished wife, Ella Dean Phillips; sons, Steve Phillips and wife, Karen, Kenny Dean and wife, Shelda, Donny Dean and wife, Julia, and Randy Dean and wife, Maria; precious grandchildren, Lauren Pulido, Katherine Pulido, Brian Phillips, Cheri Acosta and husband, Abel, Peyton Dean, Brady Dean, Riley Dean and Preston Dean; and wonderful great-grandchildren, Anthony, Alyssa and Jonathan Acosta.
