Bruce Edward George of Mansfield, Texas passed away on January 25, 2025 at Mansfield Texas at age 65. Bruce was born November 23, 1959 in Little Company of Mary Hospital Oak Lawn, Illinois the fourth and youngest child of Marilyn and William T, George, Sr..
His oldest brother, Willie, his sister Ginny and brother Matt enjoyed backyard ice hockey in the winter and baseball at nearby Crescent Park with the neighborhood kids. He lived in the Beverly Neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. He graduated from St. Barnabas elementary school and then Mt. Carmel High School, graduating from Hinsdale South High School and then attended St. Norbert College De Pere Wisconsin. He spent summers with his family on Big Crooked Lake in Michigan and enjoyed fishing, sailing and water skiing. Slight of build he would be hoisted up the sailboat mast to untangle lines.
After college he worked at York Steakhouse becoming an accomplished chef. He moved to Mansfield Texas and worked for the Trinity River Authority for twenty-four years. He enjoyed motor sports and was a fan of the Chicago White Sox. He had a great sense of humor and often quoted lines from The Three Stooges.
He is survived by his son, Kyle Vrotny and grandsons, Aiden and Thomas Vrotny. He was a loving uncle of eight nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by William T. George, Sr. father and Marilyn M. George mother.
A visitation will be held February 17, 2025 from 3PM-to-5PM at Blessing Funeral Home 401 Elm Street Mansfield, Texas.
