Bruce R. Davis

MANSFIELD -- Bruce R. Davis went to join his sons and family in Heaven on Monday, Dec., 12, 2016.
Service: 2 p.m. Friday at Blessing Funeral Home, Mansfield. Visitation: One hour prior to service.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice or the Salvation Army.
Bruce was born May 17, 1924, in Dallas, the son of Henry Davis Sr. and Anne Ruggles Davis. He graduated from Kemper Military School and went on to serve as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. He was in the 586th SQD-394 Bomb Group 9th USAAF. He flew 46 missions with the B26 Marauder earning several medals and commendations, including the French Legion of Honor Medal. After leaving the Air Force, he attended UT Austin and was a member of the SAE Fraternity. He owned Bruce R. Davis Men's and Boys' Wear Stores and later became involved in investments.
His many hobbies included flying, boating and traveling.
He was preceded in death by sons, Gary and Henry Davis; and son-in-law, Wayne Britt.
Survivors: Wife, Ann Davis; children, Nelson Davis, Julie Britt; grandchildren, Sharon, Andrew, Hunter, Hank Davis and Christy Rios; and two great-grandchildren.
