Bonnie Withers

Bonnie Withers, age 88, of Lakeside Village passed away on Friday, November 4, 2016 in the Austin area of Texas.
Bonnie was born on June 6, 1928 in Mansfield, Texas to Charles Hubbard and Johnnie Gay Huggins Harrsion. Bonnie was raised in Mansfield, and graduated from Mansfield High School in 1945. Upon graduation from high school, Bonnie attended business school. She married Henry “Wayne” Harmon in 1946. Bonnie lived in Anchorage, Alaska where Wayne was stationed in the Merchant Marines from 1947-1949. She began working in a bank while living in Alaska. Bonnie and Wayne moved back to Mansfield in 1949, and she began working at the Fort Worth State Bank for about five years. They had two children, John Charles Harmon and Lisa Harmon Fallon. Bonnie was preceded in death by her first husband Wayne, who passed away in 1977.
Bonnie married Mackin Withers in 1981 in Mansfield, Texas. She retired from the Mansfield State Bank after 25 years of working as a bank teller. Bonnie moved to Lakeside Village, where she enjoyed living near the ranch and volunteering for the Helping Hands organization. She was a life long member of the Methodist Church. She taught Sunday school, was a member of the Choir, and a member of the United Methodist Women’s group. Bonnie was also a member of the Moose Lodge. During her service with these organizations she held numerous positions as an officer at different times of the year.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents Gay and Charles Harrison; her first husband, Wayne Harmon, and second husband, Mackin Withers; siblings Beatrice Ray Wallace, Bernice Gray, Charles“Bub" Harrison, and Luis Harrison.
She is survived by her two children, son-in-law, Patrick, one sister, Brenda Smith, three grandchildren, John Kershner, Amy Kershner, and Sydney Fallon, six great chrandchildren, loving family members and many nieces and nephews.
Bonnie moved to the Austin/Lakeway, Texas area where she resided at the Brookdale Assisted Living, 1604 Lohmann’s Crossing in late 2015. She moved to be near her daughter and family. For the past two years she has called room #301 her home. Bonnie made many new friends in Austin and was loved by many.

A very special thank you to her friends at Kopperl Methodist Church for the many prayers, cards, and correspondence. Debbie Harmon has been a great liaison.
