Bobby Lee Pulley

Bobby Lee Pulley was born in Marion, Illinois to Roy Pulley and Meredith Barnett Pulley on September 10, 1927. Bobby had one brother, Jack Pulley, who preceded him in death.
Bob was a family man through and through. He was married to his one time love, Anna, for 67 years. He was dedicated to his two children, their spouses and families.
He was a Korean War Veteran in the U.S. Army for six years. After he was honorably discharged, he married and had two children, Gail and Robert.
He owned and operated a Sinclair Gas Station for several years and then went on to Trade School to become a Stationery Engineer and worked with his father in several office buildings in downtown Chicago.
His son, Robert, played hockey from a young age and attended several hockey camps and Bob was always present for his son. He became a youth coach and referee. He lived and breathed hockey with or in support of his son.
He was inducted into the Illinois Hall of Fame for the Illinois Hockey Officials Association.
Bobby had a special bond with his little girl, Gail, and pretty much did whatever she wanted. To her surprise and joy, just in the last six months, he once introduced her to someone as his little girl.
Every year, when Bob had vacation, he loaded his family in the car and toured the United States. One year, Bob even took his family to Europe.
He raised his family in Chicago and then, when he was in his early fifties, he and Anna picked up and headed to Texas to follow his two children, spouses and grandchildren. He wasn't about to let his grandchildren grow up without him.
He worked at the Fort Worth Star Telegram for the last ten plus years of his career.
He fit right into being a Texan. He bought fifteen acres in Weatherford and started raising horses and Beefmaster Cattle.
He joined the Tarrant County Sheriff's Posse and was a longtime member of the Posse. He enjoyed their fellowship until he moved to Mansfield to spend his second retirement golfing at the Country Club and once again to be closer to his family.
Bobby became a Catholic just twenty one years ago. He was a longtime volunteer to his church, helping in whatever way he could, especially with the building of the new church and rectory. His pride was ensuring things were being done right.
Bobby was a Knight in the Knights of Columbus with Fourth Degree Honors. He was very proud to be a Knight.
He lived his life his way. When his four cancers and quadruple bypass stalled him, he made sure it was only temporary. He met each challenge head-on and was ready for the next fight.
He was a strong man, excellent husband and father, who gave all to his family. He would do anything for anyone. He was a friend to many and admired by even more.
He will be greatly missed and forever admired.
Bob is survived by his loving bride of 67 years, Anna Rose Spadoni Pulley, daughter Gail Ann Gagnon (husband Robert), son Robert Lee Pulley (wife Terri), grandchildren Robert Gagnon, Jr. (wife Andrea), Andrew Pulley, Angela Mason, Heather Minor as well as Marina and Meghan Pulley and great grandchildren Gracie and Aubrey Gagnon, Alex Ishchenko and Jarrett Mason, Joseph Carter and Savannah Minor.
