Joe Watson was born July 11, 1929 in Leo and went to be with his Lord on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at his home. Service: 10 am Wednesday at First Baptist Church Mansfield, where he was a member. Don Miller is officiating. Burial: At the historic Cogburn Cemetery, Cooke County. Visitation: 9 a.m., Wednesday at the church. He and his devoted wife, Lucille Watson, shared nine years of happiness and an active social life among their many friends and family. Joe served in the U.S. Navy, entering service in 1946, and was discharged as Youman 3rd Class in 1950, stationed primarily in San Diego. A graduate of UTA with a degree in Business Law and Accounting, Joe retired from the T&P Railroad, taught golf at Tarrant College, and worked several years for Walmart. Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Jeanetta Watson, and son, Billy Don Watson. His survivors include wife, Lucille Watson; son, Ronald and wife Donna Watson of Kennedale; son, George and wife Sallie Watson, of Cleburne; daughter, Rhonda Watson, of Fort Worth; sister, Dorothy Anderholt, of Everman; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He also called Lucille's daughters, Carol, Delores, and Sandra his daughters.
