Billy Jack Kaid was born November 11, 1933 to Lyda Elizabeth Kaid and William Henry Kaid in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended R. Vickery Grammar School and Poly High School. Billy worked various jobs such as a newspaper deliverer as well as a roller cleaner for the Star Telegram. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1953, with involvement in the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged, after serving 8 years in the Marine Corps Reserves, in 1961.
Billy and his family moved to Los Angeles, California, in the San Fernando Valley area, where Billy worked, driving a truck, for Tjomsland Brothers Construction and became a Teamster in 1962. When Tjomsland Brothers folded, he went to work for Robertson Trucking driving car-haulers. In 1980, Billy and his family moved back to Texas where he began working for United Transport, which later became named Jack Cooper. He retired from Jack Cooper in 1995, spending his time with his family, traveling, in his motorhome, visiting family and friends.
Billy married Maria Antonette LaFata on September 3, 1955 and enjoyed 60 years loving her.
Billy Jack Kaid is survived by his four children, Mary Elizabeth Hardin, Marina Lia McTivia, William John Kaid and Joseph Peter Kaid; grandchildren Peter John Berquist, Sacheen Selstia Hardin, Nicole Kristin Hart, Shawn Randall Hart, Justin William Kaid, Corey Alexus Hart, William Joseph Kaid and Nicholas Joseph Kaid; great-grandchildren Daphne Dolores Hart-Eckard, Jacob Anthony Hardin and Harlan Cole Berquist.
