Billy Mackin Collins passed away peacefully Tuesday October 25th 2022 with his daughters by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 27th 1949 in Annapolis Maryland, to Wilbert “Bud” Collins and Lucie Murray Collins. Bill graduated from Mansfield High School in 1967 and later married and started his family in Mansfield. Bill retired from Southwestern Bell/AT&T after a career that spanned over 40 years. He is fondly remembered for being an old hippy soul, with an amazing sense of humor. “Billy Mac” or “Billy C”, as many people called him, could fill a day with funny stories and shenanigans from his younger days, and his not so younger days. He loved to bring joy to anyone who met him as well as to share his testimony of his renewed faith in Christ. After his retirement, Bill hit the open road hauling boats all over the United States. The road was his “happy place” and he was fortunate to make many lifelong friends along the way. He had a love for the outdoors, taking care of his yard, and listening to all kinds of music. Bill was one of kind and will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
Billy Mackin Collins was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Kathleen Bart Collins.
He is survived by his two loving daughters Carly Klingler, husband Lance and Carmen Sivadge, husband Erik and their mother Cindy White Costello. He is also survived by his step children; Jessica Brooks, Judah Crossland and Joshua Crossland, grandchildren Marisa Klingler, Collin and Chase Sivadge, and many other family and friends.
His life will be celebrated in Billy Mac style on Sunday, October 30th, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Dirty Job Brewing, 117 North Main Street, Mansfield, TX.
