Betty Lou Lindsey of Mansfield passed away on August 13, 2013 in Arlington at the age of 81. She was born on February 1, 1932 in Hunt County, TX to the late Raymond and Geraldine (Kincaid) Abbott. Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Geraldine Abbott; two brother-in-laws, Billy Craig and Billy Opry; and one grandson, Danny Smith. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Jim Lindsey of Mansfield; two sons, Steven Smetak and wife Cindy of Westminster, CO, Kevin Hayes of Chicago, IL; one daughter, Cathy Carlson and husband Wade of Smithville, TX; two stepsons, Rick Lindsey and wife Jacki of Heath, TX, Randy Lindsey and wife Connie of Valliant, OK; four step daughters, Pat Smith and husband Ken of Hugo, OK, Brenda Messerly and husband Dennis of Iola, TX, Sherry Day and husband Roger of Edmund, OK and Nancy Vance and husband Wes of Sachse, TX; two brothers, Stanley Abbott and wife Lori of Bonham, TX, James Abbott of Lacomb, LA; three sisters Dorothy Craig, Mary Nalls and husband Derwood, and Barbara Opry; grandchildren; April Skotnicki Campos, Matthew Skotnicki, Christen Skotnicki Noblitt, Tamara Smetak, and Zebulun Smetak; great grandchildren are Tristan Espinoza, Chase Skotnick, Chelsa Skotnicki and Jack Campos. Also, 21 stepgrandchildren and 20 step greatgrandchildren. She was loved by many and will be missed for her poise and grace, style and beauty, creative talent, and her sweet spirit.
