Bernice Jeanette Culbreath, of Venus, Texas, was born October 30th, 1952 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Fred and Francis Nunley and passed away in Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday, December 23rd, 2022 at the age of 70.
Bernice was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was always there for us and was considered the glue of our family. She worked many years in customer service, and always enjoyed helping people. Bernice never knew a stranger. Bernice never turned away a stray animal and never let anyone or anything go hungry. If she fed you, you belonged to her. She was an avid Elvis fan and collected anything and everything Elvis related, to include an Elvis cookbook. Bernice loved to garden and always kept her yard beautiful with tons of plants, flowers, windchimes, and birdhouses. At Christmas time, you could see their house lit up like an airport runway with all the lights and huge inflatable characters in the yard. Halloween was her absolute favorite holiday of the year and she kept Halloween decorations up year-round. She truly had a unique, loving relationship with every single person in her life. She knew exactly what favorite toys, characters, foods, etc. were for all of her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Bernice was above all a loving wife, Momma, Maw-Maw, Grammy, sister, aunt and friend to everyone.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Francis Nunley.
She is survived by her husband, Ken of the home; five kids: Tonya Fisher; Jamie Christopher; Dennis Thomas Jr. and wife, Kassie; Kenneth Culbreath Jr. and wife Amy; and Kasey Gaither and husband Jonathan; her sister, Sherry Gorske; and brother, Fred Nunley; 16 grandchildren: Ashley, Brittany, Abigail, Kendall, Madison, Bryson, Jacob, Ava, Ian, Lily, Kodi, Kason, Evelynn, Leelynn, Astin, and Wyatt; and 5 great-grandchildren: Aiden, Braylon, Mya, Sophia, and one due in 2023.
Momma, you will always be in our hearts, and we will never forget you. We love you so much.
