Benjamin "Red" Smith, 89, of Mansfield, Texas, passed away on the 22nd of November 2021. Red was born in Kemp, Oklahoma on September 30, 1932. He graduated from Calera High School and attended college at Southeastern State University in Durant, Oklahoma. He served in the Army in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953.He married Geneva Rice in March of 1951, and they had three children together, Ben, LuAnne and Sherry.
Red retired at the young age of 59 from General Dynamics, which is now Lockheed Martin. Red enjoyed calf roping and rodeoing with his friends, and in his later years, relaxing in his chair and watching Fox Business News and old westerns, and taking trips to Costco.
Red was preceded in death by his wife, Neva, and some very dear friends. He was survived by his sister Gail Brannon; his son, Ben Smith and his wife Sheila; his daughter LuAnne Dibrell and her daughter, Marissa Ramos; his daughter Sharon "Sherry" Craig and her husband Kendall; his grandchildren Cameron and Sheldon Craig and four great grandchildren.
