The family of Ben Woods is sad to report his unexpected passing on June 23, 2012. Ben was born in Fort Worth Texas in 1946. He graduated Mansfield High School in 1964 and continued his studies at Henderson County Junior College in Athens, Texas. Ben was very proud of his Texas heritage and never missed an opportunity to learn more or share his enthusiasm with others.
Ben Woods embraced a life of many careers - he was proud of his accomplishments in both creative and technical fields from radio broadcasting, electrician, printing, and computer repair and programming.
Ben married the love of his life - Elizabeth "Ann" Pettit on April 19, 1982. Together they shared a passion for many hobbies - cooking, gardening, motorcycle touring, traveling and hot air ballooning.
After Ann passed away in 2008, Ben became active in chronicling his life and perspective on his blog. He had a great number of friends from around the world that checked in daily to read his unique views on current news, jokes, his cats, weather, fishing stories and family tales. Ben had recently purchased a travel trailer and had plans to tour extensively from the Pacific Northwest to Chicago to the mighty Mississippi.
Ben was preceded in death by his dear wife Ann and his beloved parents Dena Wells Woods and A. Jay Woods. He is survived by his daughter Autumn Woods, son-in-law Barney Brennan and grand-daughter Dena Pearl Brennan of Hood River Oregon; his brothers: Woodrow, Jim, Jerry and Dan and their families and his step-son Joe Pettit.
