Barbara Worley, 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 29, 2022, at The
Waterford Memory Care Center. She was born April 30, 1933, in San Saba, Texas, the daughter
of Bob Fulton Barker and Martha Mariah Starr Barker.
Barbara graduated from San Saba High School, Class of 1951. Following graduation, she
attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas and graduated with a Bachelor’s
degree, majoring in Elementary Education. She married her college sweetheart Rogene Glascoe
Worley on September 18, 1953. They eventually settled in Mansfield, Texas where they raised
their two children and Barbara was a homemaker. After Rogene’s death, she worked as a
beloved nurse’s aide at Alice Ponder Elementary School for many, many years. She was a
devoted member of First Baptist Church in Mansfield, Texas.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Rogene, her
sisters Nila Ruth Barker and Mildred Elaine Barker McIntosh and brother Raymond Barker.
She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Worley, of Mansfield, TX. She is also survived
by her son Donald Worley and his wife, Roxanne, of Houston, TX; four grandchildren, Amber
Davis, Cindy Lewis, Alex Worley and Max Worley; five great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Lane, Lily,
Reagan and Timber; her brother-in-law, Billy Joe McIntosh of San Saba, TX and countless
beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, May 21 at First Baptist Church, 1800
Broad St., Mansfield, TX 76063.
