Barbara Ruth (Martin) Pena went home to her Heavenly Father on February 9, 2021. She was 74.
Barbara was born in Andrews, Texas on February 19, 1946 to Floyd and Christine (Norris) Martin.
Barbara graduated from Andrew High School in 1963 where she played saxophone in the band and was a member of the local Girl Scout troop.
While attending an outdoor barbeque, Barbara would meet Rueben Pena. That chance meeting began a lasting love that spanned 25 years.
Barbara was a bookkeeper at Cedar Hill Memorial Park. She was an out-spoken person with a strong will. However, she cultivated lasting friendships over those years and, if you knew her, you had a life-long friend.
Barbara truly loved her Heavenly Father and worshipped Him, as an active member, at Grace Baptist Church in Andrews.
In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed coloring, drawing, reading crossword puzzles, enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and especially loved cooking. She loved her family and times she had at family reunions and barbeques.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents and son, Terry Lyn Selby.
Barbara is survived by her sons Thomas Ray and Donald Wayne Selby, grandchildren Jeremy Garza and Terry Selby, Jr.; siblings Ray Martin, Gayle Holcomb and Tammara Rodriguez; daughter-in-law Sherry Lunsford, and numerous other nieces and nephews.
