RENDON -- Barbara Lunday Maxwell, 81, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013. Barbara was born in Dallas on March 13, 1932, the daughter of Al and Myrtle Lunday. She graduated from Mansfield High School in 1950 and Texas State College for Women in 1955. She was a volunteer choir director at Retta Baptist Church for several years and also dispatched for the Rendon Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Barbara was an artist, musician and enjoyed gardening and photography. In August of 1970 she mapped Rendon Cemetery and also aided MAPSCO in mapping county roads. Survivors: Husband, C.M. "Buddy" Maxwell Jr.; son, Mack Maxwell; sisters, Anita Farris, Marie Smith, Janet Nelson and husband, Vernon, Jayne King and husband, Everett; sister-in-law, Marlene Rowe; nieces and nephews, to whom she was known as "Aunt Bob," Renay Levisay, David Farris, Sheri Bumgardner, Eddie Smith, Dee Anna Hanchey, Renee Goodwin, Shelly Nixon, Michael King and Laura King.
