Annie Lois DeVoss, 81 of Alvarado, went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 24th, 2023. She was a resident of Bristol Park at Cleburne at the time of her passing, where she had many friends.
Annie was born to Mary Frances and Lloyd Lynn Kirby on September 2nd, 1941 in Ennis, Texas. She attended Midlothian High School and met her beloved late husband, Daniel DeVoss in 1959. The two of them traveled to Oklahoma where his construction job transferred him. They were married in Edmond, OK on January 4th, 1960. She went on to graduate High School in Oklahoma, fulfilling a promise the two made to her father when they were betrothed.
Annie was a devoted wife and mother and later, an adoring Nanny to her grandchildren. She faithfully attended Church throughout her life. Her last Church home was Alvarado Worship Center.
Annie began her career with Walmart in Mansfield when it first opened in 1980. She was employed there as a department manager for 28 years. Annie retired from Walmart in 2007 to babysit her youngest grandchild who was born that same year. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and interior decorating.
After the death of her first husband in 2001, Annie Lois met her second husband, Jules Tavolacci, who was also employed with Walmart. They shared several happy years together before his death in 2017.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Daniel DeVoss,Jr. and her second husband, Julius “Jules” Tavolacci; her parents, Mary Frances Kirby and Lloyd Lynn Kirby; her twin sister, Mary Louise Graham; and her brother, Lloyd Kirby, Jr.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Teresa Sloan and husband, Robby Featherston; son, Matthew DeVoss and wife Jessica; grandchildren, Luke Sloan, Tara Sloan, Zachariah DeVoss, and Hunter DeVoss; sisters, Mary “Sissy” Eggleston, Shirley Bishop and husband Carl, Kathy Boone and husband, Roy; brother, Richard “Ricky” Kirby and wife Donna; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
