MANSFIELD -- Anna Rose Kirk Taylor, 81, a much loved wife and mother, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015, in Mansfield after a long illness.
Service: 1 p.m. Tuesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Blessing Funeral Home, Mansfield.
Memorial service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Edge Park United Methodist Church, Fort Worth.
She was born Dec. 22 1933, in Delbarton, W.Va., to Joseph and Ada Kirk. She graduated from Burch High School in Delbarton in 1951 and in 1955 graduated from St Mary's Nursing School in Huntington, W.Va. In 1956 she married Lloyd Taylor in Ironton, Ohio. They were together for 59 happy years, and together they raised two daughters, Alma Carrine and Renee. Anna Rose worked as an RN until their first child, Alma, was born. With her military family, she lived in many places in the United States and also in Okinawa, Japan. Anna Rose was always happy to explore new places, learning about and meeting new people. After settling in Texas in 1973, she joined Edge Park Methodist Church and became an active member for many years. She selflessly concerned herself with the care of others, was always ready to help her friends, kin and neighbors, was a gracious hostess and kept a well-stocked kitchen full of homemade treats for guests. She was a skilled seamstress and a hard worker who applied herself making beautiful things, most often for other people.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and one sister.
Survivors: Her husband, Lloyd; daughters, Alma and husband, Lee, Renee and husband, Rob; grandsons, Joey and Evan Ward; sister, Cordell Edwards; and brothers Jim and Millard Kirk.
