Adam Geoffrey Schutz, 23, of Mansfield, Texas passed away Friday, December 12, 2014.
Adam was born on August 17, 1991 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Charles and Ellen Schutz where he grew up with younger brothers, Chad, Zachary and Garrett.
Adam was an avid soccer player with Mansfield Soccer Association and Mansfield High School, whose team advanced well into the playoffs in his senior year (2009). He also refereed for the Mansfield and Arlington Soccer Associations and was a recipient of the MSA Scholarship in 2009. He was an Eagle Scout. His fearless passions were mountain climbing and mountain biking. He excelled at golf, beating his father for the first time early this year. Adam was very active in the Young Apostles at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Arlington. The family lived overseas in Korea for 4 years, developing friendships with the Lockheed families with opportunities to travel extensively throughout Asia and Europe, including China, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Germany, France, Austria, Belgium and The Netherlands. He attained his 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do while in Korea. His life aspirations were to become a professor in the field of philosophy.
Adam will best be remembered for his big heart, defending his friends on the pitch without limit, a great sense of humor and the biggest smile in the room.
He is survived by his parents Charles and Ellen Schutz, brothers Chad (20), Zachary (12), Garrett (11), many aunts/uncles (23) and numerous close cousins and friends. He is also survived by his grandparents, Greta Snow and James & Virginia Schutz.
In appreciation for support from multiple organizations and in lieu of flowers, the family will target these organizations with contributions in Adam's name.
