Paul Odom, Jr., 87, of Lillian, Texas passed away peacefully on Friday, October 29, 2021. Paul was born on July 21, 1934, to Paul and Myrtle Odom at their home between Alvarado and Lillian. Paul married the love of his life, Bobbie Sue (Raines) Odom on July 9, 1954 in Fort Worth, Texas. He worked for Bell Helicopter for 33 years and took great pride in the fact that he personally worked on the V22. If you asked him about his job, he would always say, "They were good to me, and I was good to them". After retirement, Paul spent his time working on tractors, lawn mowers, and classic cars (which were his great love). With his many barns on the property, you could always find him hard at work. On any given day, his barns were a common stopping place for family, friends and neighbors to stop by and visit or assist with his current project. If you asked Bobbie Sue where he was or what he was doing, she would always say, "He's down there banging on a tractor". Paul was a fiercely loyal son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He strongly believed in helping anyone who was down on their luck, and was the first one to offer assistance to those in need. Pawpaw, as he became known to almost everyone over the years, had a very dry sense of humor that kept everyone laughing and sometimes shaking their head wondering where he came up with his one-liners.
Paul leaves behind his wife of 67 years: Bobbie Sue Odom, 2 children: Debbie Boaz and Paula Hill, 4 grandchildren: Cliff Boaz, Quenten Boaz, Suzie Knuppel, and Jennie Knuppel, and 4 great grandchildren: Riley Boaz, Aubrey Boaz, Gavin Rose, and Quinn Boaz.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital in honour of Paul Odom, Jr.'s memory. Forever Loved, Forever Missed, & Forever in our Hearts!
