Lisa Goodson Key

March 12, 1955 — December 7, 2022

Lisa Goodson Key, age 67, of Mansfield, Texas passed away after a hard-fought battle, due to complications from cancer on December 7, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 12, 1955, in Fort Worth, Texas to Bud and Jo Goodson. Lisa graduated from Mansfield High School in 1973 before attending Southern Methodist University. She later transferred to the University of North Texas, where she received her bachelor’s degree in English. While at UNT, Lisa had the opportunity to study abroad and spent a significant amount of time in Italy. She was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.

Lisa was selfless, always putting others before herself. She dedicated her life to her kids and then later to her grandchildren. She was known by many names, but her favorite was Nanni. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, going to their soccer games and dance competitions. No holiday was overlooked, from traveling halfway across the country for birthdays to making her famous enchiladas for Christmas. Lisa also enjoyed going to concerts, spending time with her friends, and spoiling her dog Blondie. Lisa retired from the North Central Texas Council of Governments after almost nineteen years as a Senior Administrative Assistant.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jo and Bud Goodson, and brother, Brett Goodson.
Lisa leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Caroline Carr and husband Cody; son, Payton Key; grandchildren, Jaycie Carr and Anderson Carr; brother David Goodson and wife Amanda; nephew Jody Goodson; nieces Clara Caussey and Dinah Ritchie; extended family and friends, and her precious German Shepherd Blondie.

A memorial visitation is scheduled for January 7, 2022, at 12:00pm at Blessing Funeral Home in Mansfield.
