Kevin Warren (Kip) Bassett, age 68, Frisco, Texas, died May 9, 2024
He was born in Miami, Florida on August 18, 1955, and grew up in Florida, on Key Largo.
He was appointed to the United States Air Force Academy in 1973. After he graduated from the Academy in 1977, he served as a B52 pilot in the Strategic Air Command (SAC). Kip achieved the rank of Captain.
Kip met his wife, Marilynn Odneal, while at the academy, and they married December 24, 1977. They had one daughter, Malissa, born December 8, 1980.
After leaving the USAF, he became a pilot for Delta Airlines. He flew for the airline until his retirement in 2016.
Kip was an enthusiastic student of history, and enjoyed re-enacting and Cowboy action shooting where he could put the history into action. Kip was also an avid shooter, and hunter.
Kip was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilynn, his brother Bruce, his sister Deborah, and his parents, Charles (Chuck) and Helen Bassett.
He is survived by his Daughter Malissa Williams, his granddaughters, Ayla and Alice Williams, and his younger brother, Terry Bassett, and his wife, Beth, and their children.
