Ellen Louise Sherrill 87 of Mansfield, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 in Scott City, Kansas. She was born to Ella Louise Taylor and Charles Fletcher on October 4, 1935 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Ellen married Willie Junior Sherrill on July 4, 1958; they shared 62 years together until his passing in December 2020.
Ellen was active in her community in Mansfield. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ for over 38 years. Ellen baked all of the cakes and catered meals for the church events and many weddings. She was endearingly known as the “cake lady.” She was also actively involved in the 49er Senior Adult Ministry.
Ellen was a hard worker her entire life, overcoming many obstacles. She owned her own catering business for over 35 years. She loved and enjoyed her family more than anything in the world. She enjoyed snow skiing, camping, shopping, and baking. Her greatest joy was being a mother, mamaw, grandma, and granny to her children, and grandchildren and she shared many of her hobbies with them.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Junior Sherrill; two brothers, Charles Fletcher, Jessie Fletcher; and son Dale Sherrill.
She is survived by two sons, David Sherrill and wife, Melissa, Robert Sherrill and wife, Cristal; two daughters, Sharon Roye and Betty Sherrill Farrow; grandchildren, Willa Sherrill, Amanda Amerine and husband, Chad, Mandy Robinson and husband, Michael, Tyler Kuser, Justin Sherrill, Kristin Sherrill, Kinzie Sherrill and husband, Spencer, Kalee Sherrill and husband, Ben, Misty Roye Hamilton and husband, James, Elizabeth Allen and husband, Brett, Troy Soules and wife, Rachel, and Brett Farrow. She also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
