Carol Braswell

On July 2, 2023, Vanessa Carol Braswell graduated from this life to be at home with her Savior. Carol was born in Grand Prairie, TX on November 22, 1944 to Tipton Howell Dickerson and Francis Louise Chandler. Carol proudly served in the Air Force for 4 years and worked for Southwestern Bell following her service. Carol married Vernon Braswell in 1975 and had a son, Dale Braswell in 1976. Vernon and Carol loved to travel together and took numerous trips across the United States. Carol held various jobs while caring for her family. She worked with Home Interiors, started her own cleaning business, and worked in Mansfield ISD for 20 years prior to her retirement. She was also very active in the school system and served on the PTA for several years while Dale was in school. Carol loved to laugh, was a very good listener, friendly, hardworking, a natural leader, and generous. Carol never met an animal she did not love. Carol was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. But most importantly Carol possessed a genuine love for Jesus Christ. She loved to read her Bible and talk to others about her faith in Christ. Carol volunteered for many years at FBC Mansfield, and she was an active member at FBC Everman and Wedgwood Baptist Church.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband Vernon Braswell, her parents Tipton Howell Dickerson and Frances Louise Dickerson and sister Cleda Ann Matthews. Carol is survived by her son Dale Braswell and his wife Tina, granddaughters Hannah and Kaitlyn, niece Penny Miller, numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Carol’s visitation will be held August 9, 2023 at Blessing Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00pm. Her homegoing service will be August 10, 2023 at Wedgwood Baptist Church, Ft. Worth at 10:00 AM.
